Our inaugural GAM3 Awards features over 30 members on its jury to help recognize the best "gam3s" in each of the 16 categories. The event takes place on December 15, and will be livestreamed across all our socials. It is time to get everyone familiar with each member of our jury. We got the opportunity to sit down with each of them to ask them a set questions to help you get to know them more personally, their favorite gaming moment growing up, what pushed them to make the jump into web3 gaming, and their outlook on the future of blockchain gaming.

With more and more games entering the web3 gaming space, the need for a secure launcher for game developers to distribute their games through increases. Elixir comes in to specifically address that, while building various products that make the overall interaction between users and web3 games much easier and streamlined. It is definitely one of the positive forward towards having a secure distribution channel for games, especially considering how users get to try out web3 games in development earlier than the traditional gaming industry and are forced to download native files through various sources.

We got the opportunity to sit down with Carlos Roldan, the CEO and Founder of Elixir, and he named his proudest gaming moment, his opinion on the current state of web3, and how far he plans to take Elixir.

What is your proudest gaming moment?

When game mods were coming out in Counter Strike 1.6 unleashing all the potential that diverged into different games. I was proud to be part of them as a player and mod developer.

What pushed you to transition into work in web3 and choose gaming as your sector of choice?

As a hardcore gamer, time put into games do not have an exit. Instead, you can sell an entire game account in a black market. I decided to work in web3 4 years ago, when I envision the difference & alternative to make black markets secondary, and part of the solution instead of the problem through web3.

What excites you the most about the current state of web3 gaming?

It’s early stage, and brings potential to bring new use cases to validate new web3 gaming models, that work and are scalable for real gamers.

Where do you see Elixir’s role in the future of web3 gaming?

Elixir is enhancing most web3 gaming experiences, like if it was a web2 game. Elixir is abolishing the fragmentation & security issues on web3. Becoming the powerhouse to play easy & safe web3 games.

If you could name one major milestone yet to happen to push web3 gaming adoption forward, what would it be?

Abolish fragmentation, no gamer wants an account, password + wallet connect per each game. Quality standards are set very high in Steam. The current regression on experiencing web3 gaming is making adoption not going forward.

How many games do you enjoy from the collection present on the Elixir launcher? Share this article and tag us on any of our socials to let us know.
