Overview

Moonray is a third-person PvP game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. Players will be drawn into intense melee combat with varied game modes, designed to cater to both NFT enthusiasts and traditional gamers alike. The game introduces a complex economy featuring multiple tokens, including the MNRY token.

The story of Moonray unfolds in a world that has survived an apocalypse, now filled with the echoes and ruins of a once-thriving culture. Players fight to win favors from the gods, adding a mythical dimension to the game’s robust combat and exploration elements.

Gameplay and Features

Moonray’s combat system is designed to be both accessible for newcomers and complex enough for seasoned gamers, offering a rich mix of melee and ranged attacks:

  • Melee Weapons: Players can engage directly using weapons like the agile sabre or the powerful cleaver, each weapon having its own unique combo sequences and special moves. Timing and strategic use of these combos can turn the tide of any battle.
  • Ranged Weapons: The blaster and cannon allow for tactical engagements from a distance. The blaster is ideal for precise, long-range shots, while the cannon deals explosive damage in a wide arc, perfect for disrupting groups of enemies.
  • Grappling Hook: This feature introduces dynamic movement options, enabling players to quickly move across the map, escape dangerous situations, or close in on enemies unexpectedly. The grappling hook adds a layer of strategic depth and can be used to access vantage points or evade attacks.

Game Modes

Moonray offers a variety of game modes that cater to different play styles and strategic preferences:

  • Deathmatch: This is every player for themselves, as they compete to rack up the highest number of kills. Quick reflexes and constant awareness are key to surviving in this mode.
  • Team Deathmatch: Teams compete against each other, requiring coordination and team strategies to outperform the opponents. Players must balance aggressive tactics with defensive maneuvers to protect teammates and secure victory.
  • Objective-Based Modes: These modes include tasks such as capturing points or completing specific goals, which require a good mix of combat prowess and strategic planning. Players need to work together to achieve common objectives while fending off enemy attacks.

Maps and Environment

The carefully designed maps in Moonray play a critical role in the strategy and outcome of each match. For example, the Sky Hands map requires players to navigate its vertical layout and floating platforms skillfully, making positioning and awareness crucial to success. Similarly, the Coliseum and Half Men’s Arena feature a blend of open areas and narrow choke points, perfect for strategic ambushes or direct confrontations.

The maps are also filled with interactive elements that dynamically influence the flow of combat. Environmental hazards, such as explosive barrels or precarious platforms, can be used strategically to gain an advantage or must be avoided to prevent disaster. Additionally, the maps contain dynamic obstacles like collapsing bridges or locking doors that can suddenly shift the tactical landscape, requiring players to adapt their strategies quickly.

Player Progression and Customization

Players can progress through various levels, unlocking new weapons, character skins, and other cosmetic items as they go. Customization is a significant part of Moonray, allowing players to personalize their gameplay experience and stand out in the arena.
