Overview
Town Star is Gala Games' inaugural title and its family friendly gameplay and similarity to the likes of Farmville contributed to its success so far. The game describes itself as a strategic farming game of building, managing production and using ingredients to craft goods. Town Star doesn't require the same attention as other farming games as the characters you spawn are automatically assigned to the buildings they were created from.
This saves a lot of time as the game makes sure your workers are always taking the quickest and most efficient route to accomplish their predetermined job. Having said that, your input into this well-oiled machine is needed as you know the roles of your workers and functions of your buildings better than anyone else.
Once you study them inside out, you should be able to create the most efficient and productive town possible in the space provided. Players win when they are able to sell greater value goods and accumulate more points than their peers. This is where the business and management element kicks in within Town Star as you need to continuously generate revenue for your town, which is earned by selling groups of goods to nearby cities.
Based on the value and production difficulty of a particular good, the player also earns Star Points with every delivery. Players with the greatest numbers of Star Points climb the leaderboard throughout the term-based competition game, and the highest scorers at the end take home $GALA, $TOWN, or other rewards depending on the pool at the time.
Gameplay
Similar to Farmville, Town Star puts players on the path to build the ultimate farm. This includes building the necessary infrastructure, upgrading your buildings, harvesting crops, taking care of your cattle, visiting other farmers, among many other activities.
The game gives players daily tasks to complete, with TOWN token rewards attached to it as an incentive. Based on the player’s weekly town performance, they are ranked against the rest of the playerbase to win attractive prizes. All of this can only be achieved through deploying the necessary NFTs. These are a mixture of tradeable and untradeable structures. The latter can be easily bought by the currency generated in-game, while the former has to be bought in GALA.
How to Get Started
Town Star can be played straight on the GALA website. You can acess it directly after setting up your GALA account and connecting your wallet, then going to the Games tab and scrolling to Town Star then simply click Play to build your dream town.
